Early inspections of fruit now well past budding high in the Maipo. The true maturing season has clearly started late this year. This is not an indication of 2010 quality nor complexity, but rather just a delay in the growing season’s beginning. Temperatures have subsequently been cooler than most years but hot peaks have struck late in December– and the streetcorner Santas have literally baked in their Christmas cheer. The 2009’s from this vineyard (at almost 1000 metres) are tasting well and this year’s vineyard prep has been ideal.
